ABOUT THE DESIGN:
The Owl design was first tattooed around the early 40's and usually meant that that the wearer was a burglar or a safe-cracker, hence the crowbar and keys. Owls are also creatures of the night which also relates to the wearers of these tattoos.
Each T-shirt also has the "MIR" logo on the back. "MIR" is the Russian word for "peace", but in the criminal world it's an acronym that stands for "Menya Ispravit Rastrel" which translates roughly to "Execution will Reform Me".
About the Designer
MIR is an apparel line featuring designs inspired by Russian Criminal Tattoos. MIR Apparel, based in Brooklyn NY, features designs inspired by Russian Criminal Tattoo Art. Symbols of anti-authority and criminal lifestyle, worn by men and women who believed in standing up to the powers that be, "baring their teeth" and not selling their soul to the government. These tattoos forever marked the wearer as part of a society that lived by it's own codes and laws.

“The exceptional quality of the necklace is truly remarkable, and the packaging is equally impressive. The craftsmanship behind the necklace, 'Moand' (by John Dee), is also of the highest caliber.”
